Insurance Product Information Document (IPID)
The IPID summarises the main features of a non-life insurance contract. It is a cornerstone of the Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD). An IPID must be produced for every existing and new non-life insurance policy. The law states that the “manufacturer” of the policy must produce the IPID.
The IDD states that the IPID must be in plain language and jargon must be avoided. There is a prescribed format for the IPID and this must be followed. We can help you.
We will design and draft the IPID on your behalf, based on the policy documentation that you provide. We will ensure it is drafted in plain language, is jargon free and in the prescribed format. We will use our specialist plain language software to analyse and provide an objective score for the text we produce.
We can also provide an independent audit of any existing documents and provide you with a readability score and recommended edits.
The ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak.
